A good friend of mine brought her sweet little man over last week for his shoot. He was such a gentleman and slept wonderfully for us. I had so much fun catching up with his mommy and getting to know his Aunt, Keri who's a photographer is Washington and drove all the way here for his 1st photoshoot. It was such a fun day.
Aunt Keri in action
Loved all his little baby bits.
Thank you Allison for letting me play with your little guy. He is perfect.
My good friend Audrey had her beautiful little girl last week. I'm so happy that everything went well for them and Kali is such a happy healthy baby. We had lots of fun with her the other day. Congratulations Audrey. Enjoy her...I know you will.
I love how mad she looks in some of these. It's like she already knows she's in for a lifetime of photoshoots. So cute.
I thought it would be fun to share one setup shot. She looks sooo tiny on my giant beanbag. Thank you for sharing the day with me. We need to do it again next week!
I'm in need of some cash, so I've decided to sell my 24-70. It's currently selling brand new for around $1,300 at B&H and Adorama I bought mine new in June of 2008 from Adorama. It's in mint condition without a scratch on it and is a nice sharp copy. It'll come with both front and back lens caps, a lens hood, the soft carrying bag, a 77mm B&W brand UV haze filter and the original box. I can't part with it for less then $1,100. You can send any questions you may have or an offer to buy to my email: lfarris27@hotmail.com Thanks for taking a look!
The texture is gorgeous, it's nice and stretchy, and it's even machine washable. That's a must when it comes to newborn photography.
Well, this little gem comes from IKEA. My problem is, I don't have an IKEA round these parts and I can't order from their site. Lame. It's almost 2010 right? Anyways...if anyone out there has an IKEA near your home that you're itchin to visit and you feel like doing a very good deed for someone, please email me or leave me a message in my comments section. I would love it! Thanks so much. Here is a link to the blanket. CLICK It's really sad that I'm not above begging.
UPDATE: I'm so happy I was able to find someone willing to get one and send it to me. Thank you so much for picking one up for me Jessica!!!!!!!!
This was one feisty 1 week old. I'm so glad she finally settled in enough to let me pose her because wow, what a beauty she is. I must admit, a little thrill ran through me when her mom got her out of her carseat and I saw what a doll she was.
She has such long eyelashes for such a new baby. I love it.
Blanket made with love by Grandma. Lucky little girl.
A few weeks ago I went out with some great photog friends, Audrey and Alison, to a really fun new location that we heard about from Melissa Niu. I liked it there so much that I decided we'd take our family pictures there too. I didn't get much of Lily that night. She's not too cooperative when it comes to pictures at the moment so I just let her play with Abbey. I was happy I was able to get a few of me and Stella though. She's growing up way way too fast. Thanks for the fun evening girls!
Leah is a super talented designer who asked to borrow some images I'd taken of these little boys for her organic baby album templates. Every page turned out so beautifully. Click here to check them out.
The Canon 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS lens came a couple days ago and I'm loving it. It's supposed to be my Christmas present but there is absolutely no way I could wait another 2 months to play with this toy. I'm sure I'll wrap it up and put in under the tree on Christmas Eve so the kids don't wonder why Santa didn't bring me anything this year.
I love love love the shallow depth of field it gives on close-ups.
In honor of Halloween I trapped a really hairy, creep, yucky spider in a jar and snapped this little gem. And no, I didn't have the heart to squish him after looking into all four of his eyes. He almost seemed to have a personality, ya know? After debating over what I should do with him for an hour or so, I finally let him go in the front yard...as far from the house as possible of course.
Bo's eye.
Right about now I wish I'd taken the effort to plant some flowers in the yard this year. But I didn't so I had to make do with what we've got. Kinda boring though, I know.
I really have no clue what I'm doing with macro photography yet, but I'm having so much fun trying to figure it out.
Ross' sister had her baby boy a few weeks ago and I had the pleasure of photographing him. He is tiny and sweet and perfectly perfect. Congratulations!
So here's what some breastmilk, lots of sleep and 93 days will do...
I love those chunky legs and bum. Notice that the bed is actually the same size in both shots. I love that I have this to see just how much she's grown. It's amazing to me that she's changed so much in such a short time. Love this little girl.
And here's a pullback of the second shot. My kitchen is where I take about 95% of my pictures. I used 53" white seamless paper and port-a-stand by savage. I got it at B&H for around $100. I got the dollbed on ebay a couple years ago, but the vendor is no longer making them, sorry. I used window light from my sliding glass door with a little fill light from a bounced flash. And I warmed up the bed before I stuck Stella on there with a nice warm heating pad (lower right corner). Oh, and I cranked the heat up in the house to around 79 degrees so it wasn't too chilly for her.
The last 3 months have flown by. Stella has grown so much and is really fun lately. She's a feisty little thing and usually not super easy to photograph. But she's been good to her mama this last week.
One of my favorites.
I love her little finger nails here.
This is supposed to be a kitten hat, but I think she looks a little bit more like a viking in it. Still cute.
I love all her chub here.
I never got to use this when she was a newborn so I decided to give it a try before she was way too big for it. Yes, it looks a little like she's choking here but she wasn't. In fact, she loved it and she was perfectly safe every second she was in it.
I spent countless hours putting Stella's newborn book together. It was worth it. I love it. It's 89 pages long so I can't share the whole thing, but here are several of my favorite layouts.

At this time I am only booking two newborn (two weeks of age and younger) sessions per month. I will NOT be booking any other type of sessions at this time. I need to be spending lots of time with my little ones.
